DENVER — Two local restaurants have been ranked on Wine Enthusiast Magazine's new list of the best wine restaurants in the country.
On June 12, the magazine released a list of America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants of 2018.
The magazine, which was founded in 1988 as a guide to wine trends, ratings and reviews, releases a complete list each year.
This year, Barolo Grill and Tavernetta both made the cut.
Barolo Grill, located at 3030 E. 6th Ave., serves northern Italian food in a comfortable, yet elegant atmosphere, according to its website. Wine Enthusiast Magazine noted that annual staff trips to various regions of Italy allow the owner and wine director, as well as the executive chef, to source from prominent wine producers. The restaurant has a 14,000-bottle wine cellar.

Tavernetta is a fairly new restaurant that was opened by the same people behind Frasca Food & Wine in Boulder, according to the magazine. The restaurant, which sits in the Union Station neighborhood at 1889 16th St., focuses on hospitality and Italian traditions. While it features plenty of Italian choices, the restaurant also serves French bubbles, according to its website.
