A new airline has been created specifically for millennials and hipsters!

Not, it's not a joke. Nor is it a publicity stunt. Joon is very much a real, working airline which launched in December 2017.

Aimed at 18 to 35 year olds, the airline offers up a plethora of millennial-friendly features including a menu packed with organic food, signature cocktails, craft beers, and entertainment ranging from classic and modern films to a VR experience.

Although strangely, there's no sign of avocado on the menu, even though it's often seen as an emblem for the age group.

Even the flight attendants' uniforms have been designed with millennial fashion trends in mind, not to mention they're all made out of recycled fabrics from plastic bottles.

As for the cabins? Joon is going for a 'lounge' vibe with colourful cushions and comfortable seats - and in Business Class, you can even get a fully-flat lie bed for longer journeys.

The whole venture is a subsidiary from Air France, which previously stated that it's aiming to create a lifestyle rather than just the airline.

The airline also describes itself as a 'rooftop bar' thanks to the impressive drinks menu ranging from fruit juices to champagne and organic tea and coffee.

Although, clearly, it's not actually a rooftop bar - it's just flying above the rooftops.

Still, the airline's worked hard to target the millennial obsession with all things digital on holiday - after all, research has shown that 94% travel with at least one gadget .

To cater to the demand, the aircraft will offer in-flight streaming direct to passengers' laptops, tablets and smartphones via their onboard app YouJoon.

Battery going flat? Have no fear - seats will have individual USB ports so you can recharge.

Joon's fleet is based at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport and consists of Airbus A320, A321, A340. However, they're aiming to have a total of seven Airbus A320, four Airbus A321 and four Airbus A340 by the 1st July 2018.

As for their cabin bag policy, it seems to be more generous than other major airlines.

Those flying in Economy can take a cabin bag free of charge as well as a handbag/laptop bag/tote bag/weekend bag, provided the total weight is no more than 12kg. (You'll have to pay extra if you want hold luggage).

Fly Business and the total cabin bag weight amps up to 18kg, with the option to check in one bag in the hold for free.

The fares are pretty competitive in themselves, with flights to Europe starting from €49 to a host of destinations including Norway, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Turkey.

Caroline Fontaine, VP Brand at Air France said: "We started with our target customer segment, the millennials, to create this new brand that means something to them.

"Our brief was simple: to find a name to illustrate a positive state of mind.

"This generation has inspired us a lot: epicurean and connected, they are opportunistic in a positive sense of the word as they know how to enjoy every moment and are in search of quality experiences that they want to share with others. Joon is a brand that carries these values.
