Aldi to make 150 new hires in Hungary

The Hungarian unit of German discount chain Aldi plans to increase headcount by more than 150, seeking to fill various positions from sales staff through logistic jobs to IT and marketing, the company said yesterday.

Aldi plans to increase the number of regional sales managers by more than 20% in Hungary. For this position, Aldi offers a gross starting wage of HUF 812,000 per month, national news agency MTI reported.

The company also announced a new internship program this spring, seeking students in various areas from finance through marketing, HR, logistics to sales.

Aldi has 130 stores in Hungary, employing a staff of almost 3,000. The average monthly gross wage in the commerce sector was HUF 290,755 in February, according to data from the Central Statistical Office.
