Sabeco  (SAB) unveils 2025 growth strategy

Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation has announced a 15 per cent increase in its 2024 dividend payout, alongside plans for 8 per cent profit growth in 2025, targeting after-tax profit of VND4.835 trillion ($194 million).

Sabeco Unveils 2025 Growth Strategy

Sabeco is committed to sustainable growth as a foundation for long-term development.

Sabeco released documents ahead of its 2025 AGM, scheduled for April 24 in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to market analysts, 2025 is expected to bring “golden” opportunities for Vietnam’s beer industry, buoyed by a young population, rising incomes, and growing demand for non-alcoholic beer and exports. Consumers are increasingly shifting from mass-market options to premium and craft beer, particularly in urban areas. Vietnam’s recovering tourism sector is also forecast to boost beer consumption in tourist hubs.

To seize these opportunities and address ongoing challenges, Sabeco is committed to sustainable growth as a foundation for long-term development. The company is targeting revenue of VND31.64 trillion ($1.26 billion) and after-tax profit of VND4.835 trillion in 2025, representing an 8 per cent increase on-year.

Its strategy includes strengthening brand building and market development, aligning products and distribution with shifting consumption trends, and restructuring its distribution network for improved professionalism and efficiency. Sabeco also aims to expand in both domestic and international markets, enhance product quality through R&D, improve supply chain performance, and invest in modern retail and e-commerce channels, including takeaway and on-premise sales.

In line with its ESG commitments, Sabeco continues to invest in renewable energy and solar power adoption to cut operational costs and support climate goals. The company is also working to establish clear baseline metrics for improved cost control and to reinforce internal capabilities for long-term competitiveness.

Dividend hike amid solid 2024 performance

Despite persistent challenges in 2024—including stricter regulatory controls and global economic headwinds–Sabeco maintained positive growth. The Vietnamese beer industry continues to be affected by special consumption taxes, advertising restrictions, Decree 100 on alcohol-related violations, and higher raw material costs.

Nonetheless, Sabeco reported revenue of VND31.872 trillion ($1.27 billion) for 2024, up 4.6 per cent on-year, while net profit rose 5.6 per cent to VND4.495 trillion ($180 million).

Beyond its financial results, the company has demonstrated growth potential through market expansion, increased market share, and M&A activities.

In a notable development for shareholders, Sabeco has proposed raising its 2024 dividend from the initially planned 35 per cent to 50 per cent, reflecting strong business performance and a robust cash position.
