Coors Light Turns Bad Baseball Opener Seats Into Free Beer

One beer brand is soothing baseball fans who choose bad game day seats with its “Obstructed Brews” contest.

Coors Light notes that “passionate baseball fans will grab any seat just to soak in the game day energy,” but unfortunately, all seats are not made equal. Fans sometimes end up with less-than-stellar views, and even worse, with a “concrete pillar, a foul pole or an overhanging deck blocking the action,” otherwise known as the dreaded obstructed view seats.

Coors Light is attempting to “make home openers a little more chill” by rewarding fans in obstructed-view seats with a free Coors Light. Tonight in Arizona and April 4 in New York, fans attending the season home opener games with blocked views can go to ObstructedBrews.com to submit a photo of the view-blocking object. If the brand determines that their seat is “less-than-chill,” the fan will receive a free Coors Light brew.

The contest is being promoted via Coors Light’s website and on Instagram @CoorsLight. The free “brew” is actually awarded to the entrant as a Venmo payment.
