Perry Lawson Fine Art is pleased to present Hope is the Thing with Feathers, an exhibition featuring bird-themed artwork by Sharon Falk, Glenn Goldberg, Bryn Jayes, Jackie Shatz, Mckenna van Koppen, and Hanna von Goeler. The title is drawn from Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name, which serves as a touchstone for the exhibition’s exploration of birds as symbols of hope and resilience. In times of uncertainty, they can remind us of the power of persistence and the possibility of flight beyond hardship. This exhibition pays homage to birds and all they symbolize, offering a space to reflect on hope as an ever-present force. This exhibition will be on display until May 18th Fridays through Sundays from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.. Go to perrylawsonfineart.com or call 347-450-2190. 90 North Broadway, Nyack NY 10960

NYACK: Edward Hopper House, PORTAL: The Window in American Photography

This exhibition of gelatin silver prints and color photographs date from the late 1920s to early 2000s. Collectively, they reveal how photographers employ a window as a pictorial device to frame and anchor each image and, technically and theoretically, to employ it as a recognizable transparent space, or threshold, between figures on each side. Despite the differences between the images, the photographers in this exhibition — and painter Edward Hopper — share an exploration of the storytelling capabilities of a simple aperture. The exhibition will be on display until April 27th. Go to edwardhopperhouse.org or call 845-358-0774 for more information. 82 N. Broadway, Nyack NY 10960
