Michelle Obama, the former First Lady and co-founder of Plezi Nutrition, has partnered with NBA superstar Stephen Curry to introduce a healthier sports drink: Plezi Hydration.
This new beverage, designed to promote health and wellness, is the latest initiative from Obama’s public benefit company, Plezi Nutrition.
Plezi Hydration is a smarter, more nutritious alternative in the sports drink market, which is often dominated by high-sugar options. The drink contains no added sugars or artificial sweeteners, offers less sodium than many leading competitors, and provides a full daily dose of vitamin C. This makes it a standout choice for those looking to stay hydrated without compromising on health.
“We’ve worked hard to create a beverage with great taste and smart ingredients—no shortcuts, just a drink that fuels your body the right way,”
said Curry, who played an active role in the development of the product.

The sports drink category is highly competitive, with giants like PepsiCo’s Gatorade and Coca-Cola’s Powerade leading the market.
However, with Plezi Hydration, Curry and Obama aim to offer a healthier option, tapping into the growing demand for beverages that prioritize wellness.
Plezi will be available in three flavors: Lemon Lime, Tropical Punch, and Orange Mango Twist—Curry’s personal favorite.
The drinks will be sold nationwide through Amazon and in select grocery stores, including Walmart, Albertsons, and Safeway in California.
Each 16.9-ounce bottle contains 70 calories and will retail for $2.29.

“We’re excited to offer a delicious, healthier option for anyone looking to stay active and hydrated,”
Obama said in a statement. Plezi Nutrition was founded in 2023 with the mission to promote healthier living, particularly among children, in line with Obama’s long-standing efforts to fight childhood obesity during her time in the White House.
Curry, who is an investor in the product, also played an integral role in the creation of the drink, from the formulation to the packaging.
His wife, Ayesha, who has a culinary background, also contributed to the development and taste.
Both Curry and Obama have long been advocates for health and wellness.
Through their nonprofit, Eat. Learn. Play., which they co-founded in 2019, they continue to push for healthier lifestyles and offer resources to promote better nutrition and physical activity.
With the launch of Plezi Hydration, both Curry and Obama are helping to shape the future of sports drinks by offering a refreshing, healthier choice for consumers.
