Maybe Group and Campari searching for female mentee

Women hospitality scholarship

The Maybe Cocktail Festival, through its Women in Hospitality panel and in partnership with the Campari Academy is offering an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime scholarship opportunity to learn at two of the world’s leading bars.

The Women in Hospitality Scholarship is offering the chance for a female or female-identifying person to gain hands-on training at Maybe Sammy followed by a trip to Barcelona to learn at one of the world’s most creative bars – Paradiso.

Campari’s National Trade Advocacy and Bartender Engagement Manager, Krystal Hart said: “If you are female or female-identifying person working in the Australian hospitality community, we have a mentorship fund available for you.

“I have been in hospitality for about 17 years, 15 of those years were working behind a bar. I remember looking around and I was the only female in the a team for most of that time. Thankfully, that’s starting to change a lot, but in my opinion, it’s still not good enough.

“So if you feel like you’re a person who could use some funds and a little bit of mentoring, then this is the initiative for you. Get out for phone and film yourself for 30 seconds, tell us who you are, who your mentor is and what you would use these funds for.

“We’ll draw the winner after the Women in Hospitality discussion. This is your chance to better your career and learn from other people in the industry – apply now.”

Tickets for the Women in Hospitality discussion are available now through the Maybe Cocktail Festival website. Tickets cost $25, with part of the ticket cost going towards the scholarship fund.

The Women in Hospitality discussion promises a thought-provoking conversation on leadership, mentorship, and the evolving role of women in hospitality, hosted by Margarita Sader (Paradiso) and with insights from Guoyi Gan (Cosmo / Jigger & Pony group), Gabriela Moncada, (Dun Fulano Tequila), Gina Barbachano (Hanky Panky), Ines De Los Santos (Cochichina), Aline Vargas (Florería Atlántico), Sarah Marsiglia (Teresa), Eve Speciall, and Sarah Proietti (Maybe Sammy).

The Maybe Cocktail Festival also has more details on the scholarship plus information on how to apply.

This year’s Maybe Cocktail Festival is taking place from 7 – 13 April, and will feature a world-class line-up of bars and bartenders from around the world.

The Women in Hospitality panel discussion will take place on Sunday, 13 April at Prefecture 48, Sussex Street, Sydney.
