Back Bay: A cheekily named Indian restaurant, Don’t Tell Aunty, opened its doors near Berklee earlier this month. It bills itself as the city’s first Indian gastropub, slinging Indian twists on pub fare like butter chicken croquettes, spiced smash burgers, and crispy chaat’ar tots topped with an onion tomato masala salsa. The restaurant comes from the same folks behind playful South Indian spots Vaanga and Madras Dosa Co. in Boston. 1080 Boylston Street
Fenway: The chicken connoisseurs at Shy Bird have struck again. The restaurant, known for its chicken in many forms — truffled chicken frites, fried chicken sandwiches, rotisserie chicken — has opened its third location in Fenway. Like the other Shy Bird outposts, it’s an all-day spot serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. It also offers a work-from-the-restaurant deal for $17.95 that includes a meal, bottomless coffee, and a place to hang out with your laptop on weekdays until 4 p.m. 201 Brookline Avenue
Newton: There’s a new spot for cheesy, toasty paninis in town. Nonantum Press Room is a takeout-only sandwich, soup, and salad shop from chef Jim Donovan, whose local accolades include introducing the chart-topping Buffalo wings to Buff’s Pub in Newton. There are no wings on the menu at the Press Room, but there are ten different types of paninis that look like they mean business. 191 Adams Street
North End: Chef Tony Susi, who formerly ran the neighborhood’s beloved Italian spot Sage — an erstwhile hot spot in the early 2000s — has brought the restaurant back to life in the form of Little Sage. Head here for plump gnocchi, baked fazzoletti with short rib, roasted lamb skewers dressed with a chickpea caponata, and more. Fans of Locale, the pizza place formerly in this location, can still get pies online for takeout and delivery. 352 Hanover Street
Revere: Singh’s Roti Shop, an essential dining destination for Trinidadian staples like flaky doubles and jerk chicken or curry goat wrapped in roti, has expanded with a second location in Revere. 76 Revere Beach Boulevard
Somerville: Cocktail champs Joseph Cammarata and Daren Swisher (who also run cocktail bar Daiquiris & Daisies in downtown Boston food hall High Street Place) have opened a casual bar and restaurant, Tall Order, in the former home of Somerville’s Thirsty Scholar pub. Find burgers, pork sausage rolls, sub-$15 cocktails, and head-turning bar snacks like candied Japanese peanuts and pickled mushrooms dusted in smoked paprika. 70 Beacon Street
Somerville: Fan-favorite Burlington Vietnamese spot Việt Citron is bringing its sought-after banh mi and rich bowls of pho (featuring a simmering beef bone marrow broth that melds together over 48 hours) a little closer to Boston. The restaurant recently opened an outpost at Somerville’s Bow Market with a slightly abbreviated menu; peruse the offerings here. 1 Bow Market Way
