Best-selling White Company home scents
The White Company has always been very deliberate with their home scents. Each one is distinct, designed to suit a particular person, mood, or room. It's one of thr founder, Chrissie Rucker's, passion projects. She's always looking for the best ways to make a home feel cosy, crafting scents that transport the senses to faraway climes, there's a scent to suit all moods.
1. Seychelles
For those looking for a home fragrance that's lighter and an echo of sunnier climates, Seychelles is just the thing. Laura, former Fashion Editor at The White Company says "Seychelles is an all-year-round best seller. It's most people's favourite candle and it's actually also the one that they diffuse outside of all The White Company's shops to entice you in."
Speaking about the Seychelles collection Chrissie says: "It's just the most magical scent when we feel in need of a little escape or me-time. With evocative bergamot, bright orange, and fresh coconut, plus a hint of jasmine, warming amber, and buttery vanilla, it instantly brings home the warmth of an Indian Ocean breeze."

Like dopamine decor, the power of summer scent can go a long way to make you feel a sense of joy and escapism. I particularly love the look of the shells in the botanical candle, but I'll take Seychelles in whatever form it's available. Mini break anyone?
2. Lime and Bay
This fresh and zesty fragrance is a classic spin on citrus. "Everyone calls it "sunshine in a bottle", says Laura "because you have the sharp lime with warmer, sweeter mandarin and grapefruit. These are topped off with lush florals, including jasmine and bay leaf. It's a winning combination that has secured itself a spot as another one of the brand's best sellers.
"If you're thinking about where to place it in your home, Laura recommends putting any of the Lime and Bay collection in your kitchens and living spaces to keep your home feeling fresh and energized.
Chrissie founded The White Company nearly 30 years ago, one of the UK’s leading lifestyle brand. Chrissie was awarded an MBE in 2010 and in 2018 an OBE both for her services to retail.

3. Amalfi Lemon
"I can remember when the team were developing Amalfi Lemon," reminisces Laura, "the whole office smelt beautiful, because we all ended up stealing samples to sit on our desks. The bright notes of lemon and fresh neroli smell like an expensive summer holiday with undertones of cedarwood that give this impressive longevity."
The team brought it to the collection to be reminiscent of a sunny Mediterranean coastline and it does exactly that. In fact, if I pop some sunglasses on and close my eyes, I can imagine I'm not at my desk now.
4. Verde
There has been whisperings of The White Company's latest launch and now it's here. A welcome addition to the collection, Verde is green, light, and fresh, perfect for this time of year.
5. Sea Salt
I am a firm believer that there is nothing quite like sea air for the soul. A walk around coastal cliffs can put your mind right, no matter what, which is why Sea Salt remains to be one of my favourites from The White Company's collection.
It's inspired by seaside strolls, crafted to be invigorating, and smells as fresh and airy as you imagine it possibly could. The notes of sea salt, samfire, and driftwood are as windswept and packed with ocean air as a good break away.
6. Wild mint
People can always smell mint, whether it's slapping them around for a mojito in the kitchen or something a little calmer, such as in your bath salts, they have a well-established connection to the finer things in life.
"Chrissie specifically loves the wild mint collection for its cooling and revitalizing scent and I remember it was always the one people bought with their staff discount," says Laura, "the peppermint, spearmint, and white tea blend smell clean, crisp, and energizing. It's perfect for the kitchen, or the whole home as the weather gets warmer."
7. Flowers
Flowers have been a classic gift for decades, if not centuries. The White Company perfectly bottles up the delicate notes of jasmine, rose, and peony, crafting a fragrance that is feminine and subtle.
"It works in all rooms of the house," says Laura, "and the Flowers collection is my go-to for people when they're not sure what kind of fragrance their loved one likes. Everyone enjoys the smell of freshly cut flowers, especially when it's as well-developed and nuanced as with these."
8. Calm
You absolutely can't go wrong with anything from The White Company's Calm collection. It's designed to transport you to a relaxing spa break away, where all you have to think about is your next massage. Lavender, eucalyptus, and mint. What more could you ask for?
9. Fireside Home Scents
Fireside was launched two Autumns ago as a limited edition scent and was so loved it's now a permanent fragrance within The White Company collection – the 3rd best-selling fragrance nonetheless.
Fireside feels like the ultimate choice to make a home feel cosy, boasting wonderful woody and smoky notes to create the atmosphere of being sat beside an open fire.
“The next best thing to a crackling log fire in a boutique hotel!" is how Chrissie describes this much-loved home scent. "Heavenly Fireside returns for Autumn with its incredible combination of soft, smoked wood and birch blended with rich, warming patchouli, clove-leaf, and amber. A must for cosy, relaxing weekend moments.”
These are merely the tip of the iceberg, because The White Company offers over 25 magnificent home fragrances so these are solely the best-selling scents to help determine what you might want to try if you are new to The White Company home fragrance collection.
A personal favourite of mine is the new Grapefruit & Mandarin, which was added to the collection a couple of summers ago - can highly recommend if you like a fresh yet sweet fragrance. But having tried pretty much all the scents over the years as Lifestyle editor I can confirm they are all delicious.
