A new local and organic grocery store has opened up at the heart of a town in north Wexford.

Located beside the Hungry Bear on McDermott Street in Gorey, Kehoe’s Growcery officially opened its doors on Thursday, February 27, selling organic produce from suppliers across County Wexford.

Although the store will be primarily ran by 29-year-old Eoin Kehoe from Enniscorthy, his father Myles is currently helping to get the store up and running.

This line of business is nothing new to the family as years ago, Eoin’s great grandfather Myles Kehoe ran a grocery store in Enniscorthy for nearly 50 years. “So Eoin’s going back to his roots. He’s had an interest in it all for a long time,” said Myles.

Eoin’s also picked up a few tricks over the years from working with his auntie Mary Regan who owns Regan Organics in Enniscorthy. Mary will supply the vegetables to Kehoe’s Growcery.

Eoin also hopes to sell organic wine in the future. Kehoe’s Growcery are open 9 to 5 Tuesday to Friday, 10 to 5 on Saturdays and are closed on Sunday and Mondays.
