Ecto Cider at Rappourt in Ann Arbor

Odd Brother Craft Cider's Ecto Cider at Rappourt in Ann ArborSantino Mattioli | MLive

ANN ARBOR – I’m still feeling green and probably will be for the rest of March. Green has always been my favorite color in any hue... but when it comes to food and drink, but it’s never been the most appetizing color.

The Ecto Cider from Odd Brothers Craft Cider turns that on its head. I’ve written about green-fruited beer around Halloween before, but this cider is just what I needed for a spring awakening.

Odd Brothers have blended apples with tangerines and the peels of lemon and oranges to distill a cider that is sweet, crisp with a hint of citrus zest.

Ecto Cider can be found on draft across the state by a quick search on Untapped. I came across Odd Brothers for the first time at Rappourt which has a plethora of alcohol flowing from their taps.

Proudly displayed on Rappourt tap list from Homer, Odd Brother’s has two ciders on tap here, the Ecto Cider and Sunday Sour. The Sunday Sour is apple blended with concord grapes making a delicious Tart cider.

The Ecto Cider was not what I expected to get on draft. I came to Rappourt with plans to get an Irish Stout, but when sampling their selection, the Ecto’s florescent green caught my eye and imagination.

After tasting it, I ordered a whole glass to cheer the warm weather and hopefully the last of the winter mix precipitation. This cider made me think of warm spring breezes and budding blossoms.

Though cider tasting is often reserved for Fall take some time to visit in the “off season” for a slower passed enjoyable tasting. Some ciders are perfectly fit for spring sipping.
