Ben Affleck spotted in unpleasant moment with son amid reunion rumours with Jennifer Garner
Ben Affleck was recently spotted in an awkward situation with his son, Samuel, following a cosy moment with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Ben Affleck was caught in a 'disgusting' act shortly after being photographed hugging his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, during a recent paintball outing with their son, Samuel. The 52-year-old actor, who shares three children with Jennifer, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13, spent some quality time with his youngest child in Los Angeles over the weekend. While the father-son outing seemed like a heartwarming bonding experience, it was overshadowed by an act that many found unpleasant.
During their walk, Ben was seen spitting forcefully, clearing his throat and releasing a large amount of saliva and phlegm onto the ground. In an attempt to avoid hitting his son, he turned his head completely away from Samuel as he did so. For the casual outing, Ben kept his outfit simple. He wore a grey zip-up sweater over a plain white T-shirt and indigo-washed jeans.
He added a touch of luxury with his navy Brunello Cucinelli leather hiking boots, priced at $1,695. His hair was tousled, and he had a scruffy beard, holding a small white box in his hand. Despite the awkward moment, the outing appeared to be a typical fatherly day for the actor.
Ben’s outing with Samuel came after rumours of a possible romance between him and his ex-wife, Jennifer. The pair married in 2005 and were together for 13 years before calling it quits on their relationship.
Speculation about a reunion arose when Ben was seen cosying up with his former beau. Ben and Jennifer seemed to be very close when they were spotted paintballing in Los Angeles for their son’s birthday. In snaps from the outing, Ben wrapped his arm around his ex-wife while others showed them laughing together.
However, a source has claimed Jennifer has shut down any potential rekindling of their romance. The source said the former flames are simply "good friends." They also slammed the romance speculation as "ridiculous." Another source suggested to Page Six that Ben is "open" to the idea of getting back together with Jennifer, but insisted the "feeling is not mutual."
Instead, they said Jennifer is "happy" with her current partner John Miller. The 13 Going On 30 actress has been dating John for seven years. The source added, "Jen has a great co-parenting relationship with Ben, and that’s where things stand on her end at the moment." Another source told the publication Ben would "love another chance" with Jennifer and is "open to giving things another shot." However, they also admitted, "Ben knows it’s just not realistic at this time in their lives."
They added, "Ben just got out of a marriage and finalized his divorce [from Jennifer Lopez ], he is really busy with work and is focused on this new chapter. Plus, Ben respects Jen’s relationship with John and would never come between them."
The On The Floor singer filed for divorce from the Argo actor after two years of marriage making this is Ben's second divorce. An insider told Heat World: "Jen [Lopez] felt threatened by Jennifer [Garner] for almost all of her marriage – the way Ben would run to her for advice any time they had a fight drove her crazy."
"Jen had every reason to believe she and Ben were going to be spending a lot of time together over the holidays, because he promised that he'd split his time 50/50 between her and Jennifer Garner," they continued, "But then when he flaked on their plans and had dinner at Jennifer's instead, it was humiliating for Jen because she'd told everyone that Ben would be there for dinner."
However, it appears that there isn't anything for Jenny from the Block to worry about, as Garner has been dating businessman John Miller since 2018. Lopez also has twins from her previous marriage to Latin singer Marc Anthony. Ben and Lopez finalised their divorce earlier this year, after being married for two years.
