NY weather update: Expect fire danger in part of New York until Tuesday evening

An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Tuesday at 1:52 p.m. for fire danger until 8 p.m. for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

"The combination of low relative humidity between 25 and 30 percent and south winds gusting around 20 mph will result in an enhanced risk of wildfire spread. If any fires were to start the weather and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain. The annual NY statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14th. No burn permits are issued," according to the weather service.

Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
