Preview: Inaugural 'Eat Drink Germantown' event debuts Thursday
Some of the best Germantown area bars, breweries and restaurants will all be under one roof this Thursday for the inaugural Eat Drink Germantown.
The Greater Germantown Business Alliance organized the event to feature almost two dozen neighborhood businesses.
The business alliance wanted to leave a mark in the event's first year, so as board member John Ronayne explained to us, they devised a unique competition.
Hop Atomica showing what they've got:
"We wondered what would happen as part of this if Germantown, a quirky, unique neighborhood, would be turned into cocktail form," Ronayne said.
The competition only has one rule: cocktails must contain Campari, the event's lead sponsor. Other than that, competitors have full creative license.
Eight area cocktail bars have answered the call. Among them is South Shelby Street staple the Canary Club, whose owner, Sarah Height, thinks she has the winning recipe.
"It is called the Club Haus," Height said. "A little take on the Canary Club and then the German spelling of Haus,"
All of the proceeds from Eat Drink Germantown go to the Greater Germantown Business Alliance, which is dedicated to promoting small businesses in Germantown and its surrounding neighborhoods.
Want to go? Find tickets here. They cost $45.
The event is Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
