Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his fiancee, Emmy award-winning journalist Lauren Sanchez, held their engagement bash at the scenic La Petite Maison in Cannes, France. They were joined by the magnate’s sister Christina Bezos Poore and her husband Steven Poore.

According to a report by People.com, the billionaire splurged a whopping $4,285 on a bottle of Dugat-Py Grand Cru from Domaine Bernard, a type of red Burgundy wine. The group sat under a vine-covered gazebo that came with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The menu also included zucchini roast and Parmesan cheese. The group was serenaded by a late-night live band. The band regaled the guest with electrifying renditions of iconic songs such as Britney Spears' 'Hit Me Baby One More Time', John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads', Shakira's 'Hips Don't Lie' etc.

Despite keeping a low-profile, the duo hit headlines for making arriving at the Cannes Film Festival on a $500 million yacht. They explored Southern France for several days and even attended the screening of the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer 'Killer of the Flower Moon' at the festival.

Throughout their sojourn in France, Sanchez was spotted wearing a 25-30 karat engagement ring that is estimated to be worth $3-5 million.

The duo made their relationship official in 2019 after the tycoon divorced his wife of 25 years Mackenzie Scott.

Sanchez is a journalist-talk show host. She co-hosted the popular morning show 'Good Day LA' from 2011- 2017. In a recent interview with Wall Street Journal, Sanchez gushed about Bezos and described him as a person who is more funny than he appears to be. "He makes me laugh all the time. He can be goofy," she told WSJ.
