Sweet treats are more affordable thanks to IKEA between now and the end of 2022. Family members at the Swedish superstore can grab 30p cinnamon buns in-store for the rest of the year. In Sweden, cinnamon buns and the traditions surrounding them are taken seriously. October 4 is Cinnamon Bun Day in the Scandinavian nation.

At IKEA, from today until the end of December, Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 12pm, IKEA Family members can treat themselves to a tea or coffee and a cinnamon bun in selected stores, for just 30p.

The cinnamon bun is a staple of ‘fika’, an important part of Swedish culture where, over coffee and often some pastries, cakes or biscuits, everyone gets together to chat for a few minutes in the morning or afternoon. Many Swedes consider it almost essential to make time for fika every day, believing it refreshes the brain and strengthens relationships.

IKEA says it's encouraging customers to practice fika: to make time to stop and socialise. With their new deal, customers can enjoy a moment of relaxation in-store, while tucking into this delicious offer with a hot drink and a little something to eat.

Customers can sign up to become an IKEA Family member for free and receive exclusive rewards and discounts on selected IKEA products, workshops, and ideas, plus a free hot drink in selected stores all year round.
