A new man is at the helm, but the Munster ship continues to drift. Graham Rowntree and his assistants are only setting out on their mission to right the course of a team that has lost its way and judgement on them will be reserved.

Within the dressing room, there must be a familiar feeling. You couldn’t describe Sunday’s listless loss in Newport as a nadir because these players have handed in such sub-par performances at various stages of a trophyless decade.
