Doha: The Export Development and Promotion Agency 'Tasdeer' of Qatar Development Bank, recorded a remarkable international presence over the last quarter of 2021, whether by increasing the international presence of Qatari exporting companies and factories, or by opening new international markets in various countries of the world, overcoming the challenges and obstacles imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

'Tasdeer' undertakes many tasks to support and enhance the status of Qatari exporting factories, nationally, regionally and internationally, by providing financial support, providing exporters with adequate knowledge of global markets, and providing them with appropriate opportunities, in addition to the actual promotion of their non-oil and non-hydrocarbon products and services in various appropriate international forums.

The nature of 'Tasdeer' activities on the international scene reflects the diversity of sectors covered by the export arm of Qatar Development Bank, as it participated last October in Anuga International Trade Fair in the German city of Cologne, with the presence and participation of major manufacturers, suppliers and buyers, in addition to potential partners from the food and beverage sector from various countries around the world, as well as its participation in 14 Qatari factories within the Qatari pavilion in the exhibition, the value of the initial deals for Qatari companies amounted to more than QR20m.

Tasdeer also participated in the Plast Eurasia Istanbul 2021 in Turkey. In this exhibition, 'Tasdeer' participated with 18 Qatari factories, and the value of the initial deals amounted to more than QR40m.

Qatari factories also participated at the largest pharmaceutical exhibition for pharmaceutical industries in the world (CPhI Worldwide) in Milan, Italy, last November, through the participation of three Qatari factories, which were able to conclude initial business deals worth QR5m. In the last quarter of the year, Tasdeer held six workshops for Qatari companies and factories, with the participation of more than 174 participants, with the aim of developing their capabilities and knowledge.
