PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Poland Spring says it pumped more than $200 million into Maine’s economy last year.

The Press Herald reports Poland Spring released the economic impact report Tuesday. The assessment includes payroll, vendor payments, sales and taxes generated by the bottled water company.

According to the review, the company employed 860 workers in 2016. Poland Spring says it has added 200 jobs since 2005.

Poland Spring plans to build a new plant that would add up to 80 new jobs.

The company was accused of providing water that’s not actually from springs earlier this year. It faced a similar lawsuit in 2003 in Illinois.
