The SPLM-IO of Dr Riek Machar has rejected the IGAD Bridging Proposal.

On Tuesday, the mediation body presented its proposed draft agreement to the parties, with the position of the first vice president going to the IO of Dr Riek Machar.

Each party would deliberate on it before they all report back to the IGAD at 2pm today.

Mabior Garang, the SPLM/A-IO chairperson for information and public relation, says the IGAD proposal has not reflected the view they submitted earlier.

“We are making our counter proposal at the moment and then we are going to present it when the plenary starts.”

Some of the issues the SPLM/A-IO rejects include power-sharing ration and legitimacy of the government.
