After gathering evidence, Eagle Police arrested a man on a misdemeanor charge of second degree stalking last week.

Police identified the man as Mathew James Lee, who was released from the Ada County Jail April 17 after he posted at $5,000 bond.

A family said Lee had parked in front of their home, which is located in the neighborhood northwest of the Idaho 55/E State Street neighborhood repeatedly for 15 to 30 minutes at a time. They said he would stare inside their home and go on to the property without permission. Witnesses told Eagle Police that Lee also tried to enter the home by punching numbers into a keypad to unlock doors at least twice.

The family has told Lee to leave their property and not return several times over the past year but were not able to copy the license plate number of his black Honda Accord until earlier this month. Witnesses say that Lee covered up his license plates when he parked in front of the home, and he would drive away immediately when confronted, witnesses add.

After some time they were finally able to get a license plate number.

Eagle police began their investigation April 16 after being contacted by the family.

Lee pleaded not guilty to the charge and has a pre-trial date set for June 15.
