A big thank you to Xlendi Good Samaritan and the Gozo HospitalReaders Letter: “In July my family and I spent two weeks in Gozo on holiday, a destination we enjoy visiting every year, and toward the end of the time we visited Xlendi in the evening to see the lights.

Unfortunately I slipped and fell and badly injured my knee, and I just wanted to say a very big thank you to a young lady whom I assume was working in one of the waterfront restaurants that evening, who saw me fall and dashed over with a chair to put me on and waited with me whilst my daughter fetched her car to get me to hospital.

The young lady advised us how to find the hospital and whereabouts the casualty department was. I was admitted to hospital for a few days then repatriated to the UK for further treatment.

I do not know who the girl was but she was wonderful and I wish to thank her for her kindness and patience and good advice.

Similarly, Gozo hospital was wonderful and despite my reason for being there, I enjoyed my stay very much. You have a wonderful facility in Gozo hospital.”

Yours faithfully,

Judith Benton,

UK.

These are the news that should be most published. Thank you, Ms for sharing your gratitude with us all.

You experienced the kindness that is normal and an abundance on these islands which is why Gozo will always be a favourite for many tourists visiting the Maltese islands. The people are lovely though Gozo has its bad boys overall the people are warm, friendly and kindness is part of the Gozitan DNA the Maltese too are friendly but they have to be more wary living in a much more cosmopolitan environment.
