Tropics watch: The latest on Harvey and what systems could hit Florida

While Eastern and Central America monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Harvey, two tropical disturbances are moving through the Atlantic.

One could reach Florida's east coast next week, according to projected paths from the National Hurricane Center.

Harvey is bringing heavy rainfall in the ABC Islands in the Caribbean and has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph as it moves west at 21 mph. That general motion is expected for the next few days, according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters expect it to move across the Eastern and Caribbean Sea over the weekend.

As of Saturday morning, there were no coastal warnings or watches for Florida in effect.

Two disorganized systems are also moving through the Atlantic — one east-northeast of the Leeward Islands and the other more toward Africa. Both have low chances of forming a cyclone in the next two days, but the one nearing the Leeward Islands has a 40 percent chance of organizing over the next five days. That's the one that could reach Florida, but the NHC says conditions are only "marginally conducive for development."
