Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12, sooooo … do not mess this up.

If you want to take Mom out for a matriarch-meal, then you better make a reservation now. We hope this list of mama restaurant specials in Palm Beach and Broward counties can help.

All you have to do is find something that you think will:

  • Appeal to the mater-to-be-honored
  • Be geographically possible (yup, traffic could be an issue in SoFlo, even on a Sunday)
  • Be in a price range that you are comfortable with (keep in mind that taxes and gratuities are not listed)

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Abe & Louie’s

Over Mother’s Day weekend, Abe & Louie’s will offer special featured dishes:

  • Pan-Roasted Filet Mignon, butter poached lobster tail, roasted shiitake mushrooms and spring peas, béarnaise sauce ($85)
  • Halibut Dijonnaise, oven-roasted parmesan tomatoes, asparagus ($52)

This restaurant overlooking The Park’s 18-hole golf course will offer a two-course brunch for $30 (along with a complimentary glass of Champagne for mom) on Mother’s Day:

  • Choices for first course include Monkey Bread, Conch Chowder and Chilled Market Oysters.
  • Choices for second course include The House Burger, The Park Cobb, Jumbo Lump Crab Benedict and Stuffed French Toast.

  • Maine Lobster Rangoon with Sweet and Sour Chili Sauce ($18)
  • Salt and Pepper Tofu with Wok-Fired Vegetables and Sichuan Pepper ($23)
  • Cantonese Style Branzino with Sweet Soy and Sesame Oil, Ginger, Scallion and Cilantro ($43)

There will also be special Mother’s Day drinks:

  • Mother’s Kiss cocktail made with Grey Goose Vodka, Lime Cordial, Strawberry and Lemongrass Essence, Liqueur De Pomme Verte with Pomegranate Hibiscus Foam ($15)

This casual American restaurant chain has partnered with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization that provides basic essentials like diapers to families in need. Lazy Dog will donate $1 to the charity for every Butter Cake ($10.95) sold during Mother’s Day Weekend. By the way, they will do the same for Father’s Day Weekend, from June 14 to 16, with the Bacon Candy menu item($9.95).

Grandview will host Brunch & Blooms from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mother’s Day for $85 per person and $30 for children age 12 and younger. In addition to bottomless mimosas, DJ entertainment and a rose for mom, there will be a meal curated by Grandview’s CesArt Boutique Delights and Roux Cuisine. The menu includes:

  • Appetizer — Selection of fresh fruit, Chef’s Garden Salad and Italian Pasta Salad
  • Entree — Selection of waffles, French Toast, Shrimp and Grits, and Blackened Grilled Citrus Salmon
  • Dessert — Selection of mini desserts

Seating will be available at private and communal tables on a first-come, first-served basis, as will complimentary valet parking.

Corvina Seafood Grill

Executive chef Jeff Tunks has created a three-course dinner to be served from 4 to 9 p.m. for $72 to $108 per person, depending on the entree. After the free amuse-bouche of Bocconcini Mozzarella and a glass of cava sparkling wine, guests may choose:

  • Appetizers such as Roasted Cauliflower, Crab Rangoon ‘Dip’ Gratin, Iced Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and more
  • Entrees including Plantain-Crusted Corvina, Skirt Steak Frites, Fresh Catch of the Day and more
  • Desserts featuring Gooey Butter Cake, Chocolate Baklava Cheesecake, Passionfruit Parfait or Mile High Atlantic Beach Pie

This hotel’s internationally-inspired beachfront restaurant will have a three-course, prix-fixe menu priced at $65 per person for Mother’s Day. The brunch is curated by executive chef Gary Mawu.

  • From the Zensai & Dim Sum section, you may select two appetizers with options including Brussels Sprouts (with truffle miso, pancetta and goat cheese), Pork Belly Bao Buns and Pan Fried Pork Gyoza and Steamed Shrimp Shumai.
  • The Greens section will have choices such as the Caesar Salad (with parmesan and sourdough croutons) or Seaweed Salad (mixed greens and ginger dressing).
  • The Mains section will have dishes such as Shrimp Fried Rice (topped with a fried egg), Coconut French Toast and Miso Glazed Salmon.
  • You may also opt for free-flowing mimosas, bellinis and spritzes for two hours ($42), or add on select sushi from the counter at Mizu, the resort’s sushi bar.

Aloft Delray Beach

There are seatings at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for this hotel’s Mother’s Day Brunch served in the banquet space for $69.95 per person and half-priced for children age 5 and younger.

The offer includes a breakfast display (scrambled eggs, French Toast, frittatas), seafood station, carving station (roasted prime rib), pasta station, hot entrees (grilled lamb chops, grilled chicken), salad bar, breads and pastries, side dishes (herb-roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, vegetable medley), desserts and fruit as well as bottomless mimosas and bellinis.

Chef Lindsay Autry’s Honeybelle will serve a buffet-style Mother’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $89 per person. The spread will include fresh salads, prime rib, wood-fired pizzas and Autry’s seasonal American specialties such as her signature pickle-brined organic chicken and waffles.

This bistro and sushi bar on the style isle of Palm Beach will offer Mother’s Day specials for dinner on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, as well as all day on Sunday, May 12.

  • Featured dishes: Heart of Palm Crab Cake with Yuzu Bacon Aioli and a Dandelion Green Salad ($48) and Toro Tartar and Crispy Rice Crackers sushi plate ($45)
  • Dessert: Housemade Carrot Cake with pineapple and cream cheese frosting, topped with toasted coconut, pistachio and shredded carrots ($15)
  • There will also be a Queen’s Gambit cocktail made with Belvedere or Hendrick’s, St-Germain, Aperol, grapefruit, muddled grapes and lemon ($20)

BROWARD COUNTY

Sistrunk Marketplace & Brewery

Starting at noon Saturday, May 11, Sistrunk Marketplace will host a Mother’s Day Brunch Cooking Class for $75 per person in which chef Jorge Montes teaches how to make gnocchi paired with carbonara sauce. The fun will start with a Rosemary Bellini welcome cocktail, and the afternoon will include Burrata and Lobster Salad with Pistachio Pesto.

On Sunday, May 12, there will be a Mother’s Day Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $16.95 per person. Add Bottomless Mimosas for $15. There will be brunch boards of:

  • Applewood Bacon, Sausage Links, Chicken Tenders, Cornbread Drizzled with Honey, Banana Fosters French Toast, Buttermilk Pancakes
  • Fruity Pebble Cakes, Roasted Breakfast Potatoes, Pancake Sausage Egg and Cheese Sliders, Assorted Fruit

This Fort Lauderdale beachfront restaurant will have a brunch buffet from 1 to 6 p.m. on Mother’s Day priced at $89 for adults and $39 for children age 5-12, with nonalcoholic beverages included.

In addition to French toast, omelet and fruit/salad stations, there will be:

  • Highlighted dishes including Chicken Breast with Madeira Pan Jus, Caribbean Red Snapper with a citrus cream sauce, braised collard greens with smoked ham, mushroom brie bisque, as well as sides
  • Small plates of Fusilli and Chicken Confit Risotto
  • Tea Sandwiches of chicken salad, caprese and smoked salmon
  • Seafood bar with snow crab claws, citrus poached shrimp, cold water oysters and house smoked fish dip
  • Carving station with bone-in country ham, smoked salmon and beef tenderloin with a rosemary port demi glaze
  • Antipasta station with domestic cured meats. artisan cheese, season’s harvested vegetables and rustic baked breads
  • “Customize your own crepe” station with a selection of fruit compotes and toppings

Fleming’s will offer a special three-course menu over Mother’s Day Weekend with prices starting at $55.

A new three-course Lunch Menu will be available starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, and 10 a.m. Sunday, May 12, and a classic Surf & Turf three-course menu can be enjoyed all weekend. There will also be a children’s three-course menu. Dinner reservations begin at 4 p.m.

  • Entrees include Baby Gem Shellfish Louie salad, Pan Roasted Maitake Mushroom Cavatappi with Grilled Chicken, a Sun-Dried Tomato and Spinach Stuffed Pork Chop, or a Filet Mignon paired with a North Atlantic Lobster Tail or Alaskan Golden King Crab Legs.
  • All entrees include a choice of Strawberry Fennel Salad or Potato Leek Soup as a starter and Lime Cheesecake Tart for dessert.

La Fuga

This coastal Italian restaurant at the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort will have a Mother’s Day Brunch with live entertainment and bottomless mimosas on 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $65 per person and $35 per child younger than 12.

Executive chef Michael Mayer will curate breakfast and Italian fare favorites. There will be a Frittata and Pancake Station, Bruschetta Bar, Pizza Bar, Pasta Station, Formaggi e Salumi Station (meats and cheeses), and Pane e Pasticcini (breads and pastries). For a sweet finish, the brunch will also feature a Dolci display of Italian desserts such as Panna Cotta, Tiramisu, Cannoli and Zeppoli.

Burlock Coast at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale

This waterfront restaurant will have a Seafood Tower special ($99) that serves two to four people on Mother’s Day from noon to 4 p.m. You can add a bottomless beverage package (starting price of $39).

  • Land & Sea: 6-ounce Filet Mignon, Maine lobster, Smoked Potato Croquette, Grilled Spring Onion and Béarnaise ($87). Pair with a Cabernet Sauvignon from Paul Hobbs, Crossbarn, Sonoma, California, for $28.
  • Crab Stuffed Lobster: Mint and Pea Puree, Sautéed Ramps, Maitake Mushrooms and Bacon Espuma ($65). Pair with a Sauvignon Blanc from Loire Valley, France, for $17.
  • Strawberry Granita: Champagne floater and roasted strawberry jam ($12).

Point Royal will serve a special Mother’s Day brunch from noon to 3 p.m. for $85 per adult and $25 for children age 2 to 12 (free for children younger than 2). Though details are still being worked out, the service will include savory dishes, meat carving stations, a seafood raw bar and an assortment of homemade pastries.
