LONGWOOD, N.C. (AP) - Two people have been arrested in the shooting death of a man in southeastern North Carolina.
The Brunswick County sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Anthony Scott Beers was shot and wounded Friday night in Longwood. Beers was taken to a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, hospital where he died early Sunday.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Emily Flax told local media that 21-year-old Eugene Anthwon Powell is charged with murder, communicating threats, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Flax said 23-year-old Summer Lynn Gray is charged with accessory after the fact of murder and possession of cocaine.
It was not known if Powell and Gray have attorneys.
